Accessibility Statement

Last updated: October 4, 2026

Scope

Lecture Hat, Inc. ("Lecture Hat," "we," "us," or "our") operates lecturehat.com and our related applications and browser extensions (the "Services"). We are working to make these Services accessible to people with disabilities. This statement gives our accessibility target, known barriers, feedback channel, and evaluation limits.

Conformance Target

Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. We have not completed a formal conformance evaluation. Conformance status has not been established. We do not claim partial or full conformance without an evaluation supporting that conclusion.

Known Limitations

  • Keyboard-only navigation is incomplete in the note editor and the AI chat surfaces.
  • Manual image-cloze region drawing and some panel-resizing controls use mouse-only drag handlers and offer no equivalent touch control.
  • The concept map and the on-page annotation surfaces present information graphically. Equivalent text-based access to that information is incomplete.
  • Screen-reader announcements for live transcription and streaming AI responses are incomplete.
  • Color-contrast ratios, focus indicators, skip-to-content links, and reduced-motion alternatives are not applied consistently across the Services.
  • Features that depend on Apple Pencil handwriting are visual. We provide text-based alternatives where possible.
  • Captions and transcripts produced by the Services are generated automatically and may contain errors and misattributed speech. They are not a verbatim record and are not a substitute for CART or any other captioning service required as a disability accommodation. A user who requires a captioning accommodation should arrange it through their school or employer.

We do not commit to a remediation date for any individual item.

Assistive Technology and Browsers

We self-evaluate the Services in current versions of Chrome and Safari. We do not maintain a test matrix covering every combination of browser, operating system, and assistive technology, and older software may give a degraded experience. Our iOS application uses system accessibility features in some surfaces, but we have not completed a product-wide VoiceOver or Dynamic Type compatibility evaluation. Support may vary by feature.

Third-Party and User-Provided Content

The Services display content we do not create or control, including files you or another member of your team or class upload and materials imported from a connected third-party system. Accessibility can depend on the supplied content; for example, scanned documents may lack machine-readable text. Report an inaccessible item to us and we will assist where we reasonably can, or refer you to the provider of the content.

Feedback and Help

Send accessibility barriers, assistive-technology incompatibilities, and accommodation requests to:

Email: [email protected] (subject: "Accessibility")
Mail: Lecture Hat, Inc., Attn: Accessibility, 7710 SW 67th Ave, South Miami, FL 33143-4532, USA

We aim to acknowledge a report within 2 business days and to give our assessment and next steps within 10 business days. These are targets, not guarantees. State in your message if a barrier prevents you from using the Services and we will prioritize it.

If our response does not resolve the barrier, reply with the subject line "Accessibility Escalation." Where we cannot remove a barrier promptly, we will provide the information or functionality by an alternative means where it is reasonable for us to do so.

Procurement Documents

We publish no Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) or Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR). An institutional buyer who requires one should contact [email protected] to discuss scope and timing.

Preparation and Status

Lecture Hat, Inc. updated this statement on October 4, 2026 using known product limitations and the W3C accessibility-statement structure. No independent conformance audit or complete assistive-technology test matrix has been completed. This statement does not replace applicable accessibility obligations or rights. We update it as assessments and product changes provide new evidence.

Statement structure adapted from W3C WAI's Example of Minimal Accessibility Statement, © 2026 World Wide Web Consortium. Lecture Hat replaced the example organization, measures, status, feedback contacts, and assessment with its own information. The W3C Software and Document License and notices apply to the source material. W3C does not endorse this adaptation.
